New Energy Capital Fund VI
Date: 2023
Asset Class: Private Debt
Description: New Energy Capital Infrastructure Credit Fund VI is a target $750m private debt fund investing in renewable energy project development companies in the U.S.
Why We Invest: New Energy facilitates the transition to clean energy by investing in renewable energy and storage, thereby reducing harmful greenhouse gases (GHGs) and protecting the long-term wellbeing of the planet. New Energy presents an opportunity to invest in the underfinanced development stage of project construction, which can be a bottleneck to increasing the share of renewables in US energy production. Developers with limited access to capital operate on a tight budget and often must sell assets prematurely to generate cash flow. Projects that otherwise may have been constructed “die on the vine” because of insufficient access to capital and long grid interconnection queues.
