Description:  Being founded and led by an indigenous team, Navajo Power possesses the necessary combination of technical expertise, cultural and linguistic aptitude, and access to capital to successfully develop utility-scale clean energy projects on the Navajo Nation and across Indian Country. Born from over a decade of initiatives with indigenous communities, Navajo Power develops renewable energy and energy storage infrastructure in partnership with Tribal Nations. Navajo works hand-in-hand with Tribal governments and communities across the country to develop clean energy projects that create economic and community benefits. Their goal is to develop 40 gigawatts of clean renewable energy infrastructure on Tribal lands by 2040.

Why We Invest: It makes sense to have an indigenous led and primarily indigenous owned company bring utility scale energy to Tribal lands; and it adds additional levels of impact. By catalyzing Tribal renewable energy potential, their goal is to shift the energy development paradigm on Tribal lands to one that bolsters cultural values, ecosystems, sovereignty and economies.
