Description:  Dendra provides biodiversity and ecosystem restoration solutions through its aerial drone seeding platform and ecosystem management software. Its superior high-resolution imagery of landscapes creates a vast proprietary data set that offers insights into the most effective restoration interventions.

Why We Invest: A 2019 UN report found that ~20% of land globally is considered degraded, equivalent to 30m square kilometers, roughly the size of Africa. A 2021 UN report estimates that every dollar invested in restoration creates up to $30 in economic benefits and restoring land, while stopping further degradation could avoid up to 60% of expected species extinctions. Dendra’s high-resolution imagery captures detailed insights on land conditions, from erosion risk, vegetation health, native and invasive flora, in days vs up to two months in traditional data collection processes. Ongoing monitoring feeds into ecosystem dashboards to measure progress on restoration goals and create targeted intervention action plans to maintain biodiversity outcomes. Dendra has restored nearly 50k hectares across multiple ecosystem types including, tropical, deserts, mangroves, temperate and broadleaf forests, and subtropical shrublands.
