Boston Impact Initiative Fund II

Date: 2023

Asset Class: Private Debt, Equity and Real Estate - Subcommercial

Description:  The Boston Impact Initiative Fund II (BII Fund II) will invest in 40-50 social enterprises and community-owned real estate projects led by people of color and under-resourced communities to democratize wealth and ownership.

Why We Invest: Boston Impact Initiative Fund II exists to bridge the racial wealth gap in Boston, MA, and bordering states. The Fund has identified three core problems within racial inequity: 1) disparities in wealth creation and asset ownership, 2) disparities in positions of power, and 3) disparities in access to financing. In Boston, Black households have a median of $0 wealth while White households have a median of $247k. BII prioritizes social entrepreneurs, especially those of color, who lack access to friends and family financing.
